1998 - 2003
This Renaissance-era building is situated amidst the picturesque scenery of Lesser Town, the oldest and most poetic city quarter, between the Prague Castle and the famous Charles Bridge, in the same neighbourhood as the US, German and Italian embassies are.
Project:
This fully reconstructed building offers ten flats, four studios and one shop. The reconstruction concept was based on the rehabilitation of the Renaissance look of the building, supplemented by early baroque adaptation of the roof timbers. Some of the flats still have original painted timbers or baroque ceilings and they offer a charming view of palaces, churches and gardens of the Lesser Town.
Interiors are designed in such a way so as to meet the highest present-day demands for comfortable living. Facilities therefore include safety doors, videophones, distribution for two satellite receivers and independent heating systems; attic flats also have fireplaces and air-conditioning units.
